OnSong 2026.3

OnSong 2026.3 was released on October 17, 2026. The following items have been added, changed or fixed:

New

Flic Duo is now supported with up to 3 actions for each button and gestures.
Connected TVs lets you connect lyrics projection or stage monitor mode on one or more compatible TVs such as Amazon Fire TV, Google TV, LG webOS and Samsung Tizen.
Live Streaming lets you broadcast your lyrics or stage monitor to NDI receivers or RTMP for live-streaming to YouTube, Facebook, and more.

Changes

Changed the sign in screen to require email address to be retyped to confirm account creation.
Changed the Clean Library tool to run in the background with a progress indicator instead of locking up the app on large libraries.
Changed PDF transposition to process the chart in the background so the menu remains responsive.
Changed various top level menus to be more compatible with large text accessibility settings.
Changed the backup process to check for enough free space and reports any issues encountered creating the backup file.
Changed the chord diagram playback engine to use a new build-in soundfonts to reduce file size and differentiate instruments.
Changed how tempo works with a backing track, based on the choice you make when a track tempo differs from a song.
Changed the Settings screen on compact devices to feature sections as a drawer instead of the bookmarks menu that scrolls a long list.
Changed OnSong Console to show a note under the web address and on the Console page in the browser explaining why browsers label Console "Not Secure", with a link to learn more.
Changed the Live Video Effects popover to open beside the Configure Live Video sheet, to the right of the preview, so you can watch what an effect does while you adjust it.
Changed timeline recordings to name the top of the song "Top" instead of "Section 1".
Changed the System Information to include an Acknowledgements section for legal texts.
Changed the suggested music row to not appear in the Playback menu when the Internet is not available.
Changed the suggestions heading from "New on Apple Music" to "Suggested on Apple Music" or "Suggested on Spotify".
Changed the Books list sort button to be a standard sort menu.
Changed the title of the book editor from "Add New Book" to "Add Book".
Changed the way that backup are sorted to place ones related to the current library on top and then sorted in descending date order.
Changed the Add Book button to require the Books feature and showing an upgrade prompt instead of silently failing.
Changed the purchase page to note that group subscriptions can be purchased via the website.
Changed the first-launch setup to offer either the ability to restore a backup or purchase a plan, never both, with the plan offered last.
Changed Import From The Web to keep the file name given by the website instead of renaming the file from its contents.
Changed the title of a PDF imported from the web to use the title printed on the chart, and the file name when no title can be read.
Changed key detection for an imported PDF to use the key printed on the chart, then the key its chords add up to, then the key in the file name.
Changed PDF attachments that have their own key to display as written until they are transposed.
Changed the attachment list to leave the key off of a name that already ends with it.
Changed the key chooser to stay disabled for a chart with no key until its key is detected.
Changed the way key transposition works in the Chords tab where if there is no key detected, the user is prompted to detect the key to enable transposition.
Changed the attachment list to show each attachment’s key instead of its transposed key.
Changed the drawing bar to show a label and filled outline ortho mode is turned on and off for more visual clarity.
Changed “Keep Ortho Mode Selected” to be on by default, and to limit ortho mode to a single line when it is off.
Changed the drawing toolbar to return every tool to freehand each time it opens.
Changed the volume and pan sliders in the audio media editor to adjust the track that is currently playing.
Changed the position of the red notification badge so it sits on the corner of its icon.
Changed the song picker to dim songs already used in another set on the same day.
Changed the Apple Pencil to scroll and tap like a finger when Use Pencil to Draw is turned off.

Changed the stage monitor to place the current page on the right for people whose device language reads from right to left.
Changed the sticky note in the Arabic “Welcome to OnSong” song so it no longer covers the song in new libraries.
Changed “Sign in with Google” to ask only for the name and email address scopes.
Changed importing from Google Drive to use the Google web-based file picker.
Changed Google Docs to be converted to PDF when they cannot be imported as they are.
Changed the QR code generator to accept web addresses without “http://” typed in front.
Changed the Using Gestures screen for sticky notes to explain that an assigned action replaces only the gesture it is assigned to.
Changed the plan comparison for Pro users to show the plans above Pro, with Pro beside them as “Your Plan”, instead of the plans it would be a step down to.
Changed two-column charts to split the gutter evenly between columns of equal width.
Changed right-to-left charts to start in the right-hand column, with autoscroll following the same column order.
Changed the close button on the plan comparison to return to the Premium screen instead of leaving the whole flow.
Changed restore backup to skip settings that belong to the system or to third-party libraries.

Updates

Updated to the new Welcome to OnSong chord chart and backing track.
Updated the Flic library to version 1.6 to support Flic Duo.

Fixed an issue where the scenes selection menu cannot be closed without selecting a scene.

Removals

Removed the local network option from the enable advanced options onboarding screen on macOS.
Removed the option to remove unused files when cleaning the library, as it could delete files that were still in use in legacy libraries.
Removed the Google Cast button from the External Video menu and replaced with the live pill buttons.
Removed the OnSong logo from the projector and stage monitor opening screen.
Removed the bundled Andale Mono font since it is now included in iOS/iPadOS.
