OnSong 2019.10

OnSong 2019.10 was released on October 30, 2019. The following items have been added, changed or fixed:

New

  • Add to OnSong Extension is now more powerful. Import photos, videos, files, selected text and more.
  • Built for iOS/iPadOS 13 lets you enjoy features of the latest operating system.
  • Dark Mode responds to your iOS/iPadOS 13 preferences to display a true dark mode experience.
  • Improved List Navigation lets you use foot pedals to completely control lists in menus.

  • Added the ability to use the Add To OnSong extension in apps like Photos, Pages, and Mail as well as a Share option for selected text.

Changes

  • Changed the SDK to compile under iOS/iPadOS 13.1.
  • Changed the console to not lock right away when the host cannot be found, but require more pings to avoid false positives.
  • Changed the OnSong Connect API to allow for handling separate styles.
  • Changed how navigating lists with foot pedals works to use different default actions when the songs menu is opened in a popover menu.
  • Changed list navigation with foot pedals to wait a configurable amount of time before selecting an item.
  • Changed low light mode settings to use on/off/automatic for integration with iOS 13 Dark Mode.
  • Changed to the Rate OnSong option to just open the App Store app instead of presenting an in-app dialog that may not appear.
  • Changed the backup manager to allow backups begun with the app running in the foreground to be completed in the background.
  • Changed all user interfaces to participate in dark mode.
  • Changed Select All/Deselect All tabs to use icons for all languages.

Fixes

  • Fixed an issue where you cannot add MIDI globals.
  • Fixed a performance issue in the OnSong Media Library song list that caused scrolling issues.
  • Fixed an issue where the Quick Pick screen cannot be manually closed when opened from an action.
  • Fixed an issue saving changes to songs in a book with separate styles enabled.
  • Fixed an issue where foot pedal actions do not function when the songs menu is open.
  • Fixed an issue where the word "Page" was not being translated when outputted as page numbers.
  • Fixed an issue where changing the chord style from Roman to Alphabet in Console does not apply the change to the host device.
  • Fixed a crash condition when removing songs from a set, leaving, and returning to the set to remove another song.
  • Fixed an issue where it is more difficult to tap on the channel stepper in the MIDI Event editor.
  • Fixed an issue where the menubar color becomes 100% opaque if you set the opacity in the menubar display section of visual metronome settings.
  • Fixed an issue when searching where mismatched apostrophes or other characters may cause songs to not be found.
  • Fixed an issue where the tap for tempo feature was creating partial tempos with fractional digits.
  • Fixed an issue where the song change trigger would start when the song was not actually changed.
  • Fixed an issue with the editor text area scrolling out of view and back in when placing the cursor.
  • Fixed a crash condition when leaving the app caused by tables being reloaded when moving to the background due to drag and drop.
  • Fixed an issue where the opacity set for the menubar would not apply to compact devices.
  • Fixed an issue where the metronome starts before the new loop file has finished being created.
  • Fixed an issue where custom controls lose touch due to new presentation gestures for dismissing sheets on iOS/iPadOS 13 devices.
  • Fixed an issue when searching for songs and no results are returned, causing the "x" to not clear the search due to the iOS/iPadOS 13 SDK.
  • Fixed an issue with the drawing bar being misaligned on iPhone X devices due to the iOS/iPadOS 13 SDK.
  • Fixed an issue when under iOS/iPadOS 13 dark mode, where the default sticky notes text color becomes white.
  • Fixed an issue where under iOS/iPadOS 13 dark mode, the text fields in the welcome to OnSong screen appear black and inconsistent with the current design.

  • Fixed an intermittent issue when using iPadOS 13 split screen with an app like Mail where the OnSong menu button does not function when placed on the left side.

  • Fixed an issue where the capo will not display even if remove capo is disabled in the song list printout.
  • Fixed an issue with numbers being translated into alphabetic chords when transposed.

  • Fixed an issue when assigning a pedal action where multiple action choosers appear on iPhone devices.
  • Fixed an issue when a song is scrolled down and you insert a song using Quick Pick, the screen redraws and takes you to the top of the song.
